Precautions for Steel Wire Braided Rubber Hose in Hydraulic System Pipeline Connection
Time:2025-01-14Page views:848Steel wire braided rubber hoses play an important role in hydraulic system pipeline connections. Their excellent oil resistance, heat resistance, aging resistance, and high pressure bearing capacity make them the choice for many industrial sectors' mechanized and automated hydraulic systems. However, in order to ensure the stable operation of steel wire braided rubber hoses in hydraulic systems and extend their service life, a series of precautions need to be strictly followed during installation and use.
1、 Curvature radius
Due to the frequent need for bending of rubber hoses in hydraulic system pipeline connections, or their bending amount constantly changing with the movement of the actuator, in order to avoid excessive bending and breakage or deflection of rubber hoses during use, their curvature radius should be greater than 10 times the diameter of the pipe. This regulation is based on the mechanical properties of rubber hose materials and the actual working requirements of hydraulic systems. In practical operation, we should ensure that the bending radius of the hose is not less than 9 to 10 times the specified value, and do not bend near the root of the joint to avoid unnecessary damage to the hose.
2、 Work within the specified curvature radius
If the bending radius is too small, the pressure bearing capacity of the hose will be greatly reduced, and the service life will also be significantly shortened. Therefore, during installation and use, sharp turns should be avoided as much as possible to ensure that the bending radius of the hose meets the specified requirements. At the same time, attention should be paid to the installation position and movement trajectory of the hose to avoid unnecessary compression or friction during operation.
3、 Avoid twisting situations
This is because twisting can cause stress concentration in the steel wire weaving layer inside the hose, thereby accelerating the fatigue and damage of the hose. Therefore, when installing and connecting the oil circuit, special attention should be paid to the direction of movement of the hose to ensure that it is not subjected to twisting forces during the movement process. In addition, at the connection point, the steel wire wrapped rubber hose should be freely suspended to avoid bending due to its own weight, thereby further protecting the integrity and stability of the rubber hose.
In hydraulic systems, the bending of steel wire braided rubber hoses should be on the same plane as the installation and movement of the joints to prevent twisting. However, in special circumstances, if the joints at both ends of the hose need to move on two different planes, fixtures should be installed at appropriate positions to divide the hose into two parts, so that each part moves on the same plane. This can effectively avoid stress concentration and damage caused by twisting of the hose.
4、 Installation location
In order to extend the service life of the hose, it should be installed at the shortest distance possible or along the contour of the equipment, and kept parallel as much as possible. If the hose is too long or needs to withstand severe vibrations, we should use clips to clamp it in place. However, it should be noted that hoses used under high pressure should minimize the use of clamps, as friction at the clamp may cause damage to the hose.
When connecting pipelines, it is also necessary to pay attention to the length allowance of the rubber hose. In order to ensure that the hose has a certain bending force during operation and prevent it from being pulled apart, an appropriate length allowance should be left when connecting. At the same time, due to the length and diameter changes (usually around 4%) of the steel wire braided rubber hose under compression, it cannot be bent immediately from the end joint when used for bending; When used in a straight line, excessive tension should also be avoided between the end joint and the hose.
In addition, in order to avoid damage caused by friction between steel wire braided rubber hoses and other pipelines or components, corresponding protective measures should be taken. For example, a clamp can be used to separate the rubber hose from other pipelines, or appropriate consideration can be given in pipeline design to avoid contact between the rubber hose and other components. In the hydraulic system of the actuator, if the rubber hose needs to be connected to other components, appropriate joints and connection methods should be used to ensure the sealing and stability of the connection.
5、 Avoid working at high temperatures
Rubber hoses should be installed as far away from heat sources as possible. If high temperature environments cannot be avoided, insulation covers should be installed to protect the hoses from the effects of high temperatures. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the selected rubber hoses, fittings, and other components of the hydraulic system are compatible with the environmental conditions in which they are located, in order to avoid damage to the rubber hoses or performance degradation caused by environmental factors.
In the daily maintenance and upkeep of hydraulic systems, it is also necessary to regularly check the wear of steel wire braided rubber hoses and the sealing performance of connections. If the hose is found to be worn, aged, or leaking at the connection, it should be replaced or repaired in a timely manner to ensure the normal operation of the system. At the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to regular cleaning and oil change operations of the hydraulic system to maintain its cleanliness and stability.
The precautions for connecting steel wire braided rubber hoses in hydraulic system pipelines involve multiple aspects, including curvature radius, installation position, motion trajectory, length allowance, protective measures, and daily maintenance. Only by strictly following these precautions and taking corresponding measures can we ensure the stable operation of steel wire braided rubber hoses in hydraulic systems and extend their service life. At the same time, this will also help improve the overall performance and reliability of hydraulic systems, providing strong guarantees for the smooth operation of industrial production.
