Analysis of Fault Problems in Steel Wire Braided Rubber Hose
Time:2024-06-04Page views:1103With the development of industrialization, the structure of steel wire braided rubber hoses plays an increasingly important role in practical applications. However, for newcomers, this concept is still very vague, and here we will introduce and analyze its malfunction issues.
1、 Fracture at the joint
1. Symptom: The rubber hose bursts at the joint, and the broken steel wire is at the end of the joint core.
2. Reason: ① If the hose moves or the joint is stretched, excessive displacement can cause pressure fluctuations. ② The length of the hose component is too short. ③ The point where the hose begins to bend is too close to the hose joint.
3. Solution: Extend or rearrange the rubber hose to make it slightly loose. Do not straighten the hose to fit the component, as the steel wire braided hose will shrink under pressure. Before bending, the front end of the hose should have a straight pipe distance of twice the inner diameter, and a pipe clamp should be used appropriately to fix the hose.
2、 Rubber hose burst
1. Symptom: Rubber hose burst. Short usage time, with multiple outbreaks occurring. The explosion area is clean, with no messy broken wires, no signs of wire wear, and no traces of outer adhesive layer wear.
2. Reason: The work pressure is too high or exceeds the burst pressure value.
3. Solution: Adjust the system pressure or replace the hose with a higher pressure.
3、 Rubber hose aging
1. Symptom: There are many small cracks in the rubber layer inside the hose, but it can still bend. But no cracks were found in the adhesive layer inside the hose at the crimping point of the hose joint.
2. Reason: The internal air is dry, which may be due to the use of an unlubricated air compressor or cooling air drying system.
3. Solution: Replace and use rubber hoses specifically designed for dry air.
4、 Rubber hose hardening
1. Symptoms: The hose becomes hard and brittle at room temperature, and cracks appear when bent. When removed from the original assembly position, the component maintains its shape as installed, and the outer rubber layer is visibly dry and carbonized.
2. Reason: The hose is overheated, and the plasticizer in the synthetic rubber material is leached out. Oil containing air will oxidize the rubber layer inside the hose, causing the steel wire braided hose to harden. Any combination of oxidation and heat will accelerate the hardening of the pipe, cavitation will produce the same result, and old rubber hoses will have the same reaction.
3. Solution: ① Check the usage and reduce the temperature to the allowable temperature range of the hose. ② Choose high temperature resistant rubber hose. ③ Install insulation sheath or baffle. ④ Replace the rubber hose components.
5、 External wear and tear
1. Symptoms: Tearing and/or damage to the outer rubber layer of the hose, damage, breakage, or corrosion of the steel wire layer.
2. Reason: Excessive wear, friction between the rubber hose and adjacent components or other rubber hoses, or the use of mismatched pipe clamps, resulting in collisions between the rubber hose and sharp corners or protrusions.
3. Solution: Replace the hose assembly. Use wear-resistant sheath or spring sheath. If it is necessary to rearrange the hose, please use a hose clamp to secure the hose and keep it away from other objects.
The steel wire braided rubber hose is made of special synthetic rubber, which has excellent oil resistance, heat resistance, aging resistance, high pressure resistance, and excellent pulse performance. If well maintained and serviced, it can extend the service life.
